Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS) and Electromyography (EMG)

Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS) and Electromyography (EMG) are diagnostic tests used to assess the health and function of your nerves and muscles. These tests help identify conditions affecting the peripheral nervous system, muscles, and neuromuscular junction.

Peripheral Neuropathy

Peripheral neuropathy is a condition that affects the peripheral nerves – the network of nerves outside the brain and spinal cord. These nerves control sensation, movement, and autonomic functions such as blood pressure and digestion

Motor Neurone Disease (MND)

Motor neurone disease (MND) is a condition affecting the nerves in the brain and spinal cord which control movement. The degeneration damages motor neurones and subsequently, the muscles they control become weaker,

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS)

Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a common condition caused by compression of the median nerve as it passes through a narrow passage in the wrist called the carpal tunnel.

Ulnar Neuropathy

Ulnar Neuropathy occurs when the ulnar nerve becomes compressed, most commonly at the elbow (cubital tunnel syndrome), although it can also be affected at the wrist.

Sciatica

Sciatica is a term used to describe pain that radiates from the lower back or buttock down the leg. It is usually caused by irritation or compression of one of the nerve roots in the lower spine, most commonly due to a slipped (herniated) disc or age-related wear and tear.

Myopathy (Muscle Disease)

Myopathy is a general term for disorders that affect the muscles themselves rather than the nerves supplying them.
